Tri-Valley Haven’s Volunteer Program provides satisfaction and fulfillment. Volunteering your time can be one of the best gifts you ever give to yourself. The Haven thrives on its diverse mix of volunteers who work selflessly and tirelessly to offer a kind word, a helping hand or a warm hug. Whether you are fielding calls on the crisis line, advocating for survivors, taking care of children, distributing food or working at the Thrift Store, you are helping us build a world without poverty and violence.
Spring Advocacy Training 2027
Join our 70-hour Spring Advocacy Training and gain the vital skills to support survivors through the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), respond to 24/7 crisis line calls, and assist clients at our legal clinic.
This comprehensive training is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful, lasting impact in your community. Upon completion, you will receive a formal certificate recognizing your dedication, hard work, and state-mandated crisis counselor certification.
Training Schedule and Timeline
Weekly Classes via Zoom: Training sessions mostly happen on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 10:15 PM over Zoom.
In-Person Session: The curriculum also includes 1 required in-person session held on a Saturday.
Upcoming Cohort: Any new applications submitted now will be considered for the Spring 2027 training cycle.
Next Steps: An email will be sent to applicants roughly a month and a half before the training begins to schedule mandatory interviews and share final logistics.

Homeless and Family Support Services
Love sorting, labeling, bagging and displaying? You might be our next organizing superstar! Plus, if interacting with people is your superpower, you will find plenty of opportunities for that as well. Our food pantry and thrift store are conveniently located right next to each other on North Livermore Avenue.
Teen Volunteers
Our Summer Teen Volunteer Program is designed for teens aged 15 and older and takes place in June and July. While this program is only offered during the summer, there are still plenty of ways to make a difference in your community. Tri-Valley Haven is also accepting regular volunteers aged 16 and older for ongoing opportunities in our food pantry and thrift store. Join us in our mission to build a world free from poverty and violence and make a positive impact while having fun.
