CALLING ALL SHOPPERS - Tri-Valley Haven Craft Fair Coming Soon

Craft Fair Image Thursday, November 6th, our Holiday Craft Fair returns to the Barn in Livermore! The fair was a great success the two last years and promises to be even bigger this year. All our tables have sold out and we will be chock full of crafters, selling their wares! Come and check it out! The Craft Fair will be from from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm at the Livermore Barn located at 3131 Pacific Avenue in Livermore. There will be crafts and artwork and holiday decorations by 50 local crafters -- jewelry, textiles, woodwork, glassware, and more! Get a head-start on holiday shopping for one-of-a-kind gifts or just buy some lovely and unique items for yourself. Shop 'til you drop and benefit Tri-Valley Haven's services for women and children and survivors of abuse, assault and homelessness!

Haven Thrift Store - Shop or Donate!

TRI-VALLEY HAVEN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES - THRIFT STORE CLERK

Part Time: Under the direction of the Director of Homeless and Family Support Services, the Thrift Store Clerk will run the cash register and coordinate incoming donations at the Tri-Valley Haven Thrift Store. This position is responsible for the collection, processing, and staging of in-kind donations at the thrift store.

General Requirements: High School required. Customer Service skills required. Retail experience helpful. Ability to manage time and tasks effectively. Knowledge of violence against women and children, poverty and homelessness helpful.

Hiring Range: $11.00-$12.65 per hour

TRI-VALLEY HAVEN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES - LINKAGES CASE MANAGER

32-hours per week: This position is funded through HUD McKinney Homeless Assistance Act, Supported Housing Program, grant. Directly responsible to the Lead Case Manager, the Linkages Case Manager will work closely with the staff of six other participating family shelters, the staff of Allied Housing and the Associated Community Action Program, and the staff of the Alameda County Housing and Community Development. Works with families who are homeless because of domestic violence to assess their eligibility for the McKinney Linkages Program.

General Requirements: BA required, MA helpful. One year’s experience with non-profit organizations. Knowledge of employability and homelessness. Knowledge of violence against women and children. Completion of Agency Training within 6 months of employment (if not before).

Hiring Range: $16.64 - $19.14 per hour

TRI-VALLEY HAVEN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES - CASE MANAGER

Part-time: Under the direction of the Director of Homeless and Family Support Services, the Case Manager will provide direct service in a sensitive, non-judgmental, informative and effective manner to the residents of the Homeless Shelter. Responsible for providing general oversight of the program and participants.

General Requirements: Bachelor's degree with one year's experience. Two year minimum experience with computers, one year in a non-profit setting; knack for detail work; experience working alone. Ability to work independently, manage time and tasks effectively. Knowledge of mental health services in Alameda County. Knowledge of violence toward women and children. Bilingual Spanish preferable. Completion of Agency Training within 1 year of employment (if not before).

Hiring Range: $16.64 - $19.14 per hour

TRI-VALLEY HAVEN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES - OVERNIGHT STAFF

General Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Homeless and Family Support Services, the Overnight Staff will work the overnight shift(s) for the Homeless Shelter. Responsible for providing general oversight of the program and participants. The Overnight Staff will assist TVH managers in the preparation of contractual reports and documents. Assist with shelter operations as directed by supervisor.

General Requirements: Bachelor's degree with one year's experience. Two year minimum experience with computers, one year in a non-profit setting; knack for detail work; experience working alone. Ability to work independently, manage time and tasks effectively. Knowledge of violence toward women and children. Completion of Agency Training within 1 year of employment (if not before).

Hiring Range: $15.60 - $17.94 per hour

Tri-Valley Haven Begins 65-Hour Advocate Training for Volunteers

Twice a year, the Tri-Valley Haven hosts a 65-hour training for our new crisis line and sexual assault response team and legal clinic volunteers. This session begins on Tuesday, August 5th and runs most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM - 10:15 PM through October 21st. This training is required by the State and by the agency for anyone wishing to become an advocate at Tri-Valley Haven.
